Tourism Photography

Specialisation is in Tourism

I have a long experience of capturing imaginative and appropriate images to publicise
locations, towns events and enterprises connected with the tourist industry
I was the photographer responsible for the majority of imagery used by Bournemouth Tourism
from the late 70's until the early 90's, and I have worked with publishing companies,
photographic libraries and advertising agencies.

Idealised images

Images for the marketing and publicity of a tourist location or event can be
fully art directed and set up with models and full lighting.
Many strong images of local beauty or interest can be caught during moments of rare, striking
atmospheric light conditions, at times of the day (or year) when many may still be at home.

Situations, glimpses and observations

Included in any commission are the unusual shots which capture the essence of a place,
and some ideas about different ways of looking at familiar tourist sights; portraits and
interiors; natural and artificial lighting; set ups for nightlife, the glitz,
indoor facilities and leisure; sports and festivals, and of course the Theatre and the Funfair.

Images are captured on large format and 35mm transparencies or negatives,
panoramic transparencies or negatives, digital camera or supplied as
digital scans on CD ROM.
